New Patio to Christen

June 24, 2010 Leave a comment

This week our new patio has been poured.  This will expand our patio area substantially.  We also have 6 new picnic tables for the area.  It has to cure, so it won’t be available this weekend but for sure it will be open for our 4th of July Wine and Watermelon event.  If you didn’t come last year, for the 4th of July we have snacks, live music and watermelon with all the toppings.  Yes, I said toppings, like salt (everyone knows that one), pepper, honey, balsamic vinegar, paprika, creme fraiche and caviar, etc.  We will have most of these available for trying.

Other news:  our 1st Ladies’ Night Out is tonight, June 24th.  This will be a quarterly event.  We are having our annual work party this weekend, Friday, the 25th, Saturday, the 26th and possible Sunday, the 27th.  There are projects for all skill and strength levels; just depends on how dirty you want to get.  There will be plenty of food and beverages.

We’ve picked up more equipment over the last two weeks.  We now have several more poly tanks, a basket press, a 6-port filler and a heating/chilling plate.  It won’t be long before we will have something to show on a tour.  Does anyone know where we can get some fermentation bins?

Memorial Day Weekend and Our Frog

June 3, 2010 Leave a comment

Thank you all so much for making our Memorial Day Weekend of wine tasting a blast.  Okay, I admit it was a little slower on Saturday than expected, but that was our own fault.   With two bars and the patio out back, even with lots of people, it doesn’t seem crowded.  And the weather held for us so we could have music and food on the patio.   On Monday, it was especially good because the pation was nearly full and several stayed for our impromptu barbecue.  My feet finally stopped hurting me this morning.  I’m too old for this.  And for more news, I have to show you the picture of our frog.  He is mesmerized by the fountain in the pond.   How funny is that.

Live music continues all summer on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4ish.  And other June events coming up include Date Night on the 11th, Sunset Wine Tasting on the 18th (tentative) and Father’s Day Music and Brats on the 20th.
