Spring at Plum Hill Vineyards

Spring has sprung at Plum Hill Vineyards.  The tulip, daffodils and hyacinth are blooming profusely.  And it is so clear, you can Mt. St. Helen’s and Mt. Adams from the tasting room and patio.  I love this time of year.  It is time you get your picnic baskets dusted off.

Ghost and a New Toy

It’s not news how much we love having Ghost at the winery, but sometimes he cracks me up. Today, he found a fuzzy, green (had to be green for St. Patty’s Day) bear in the gift shop that he decided had to be his. How cute is that.

Schonberger and New Bar

March 11, 2010 Leave a comment

RJ and I have gotten reenergized (not that I think we were lethargic…yet).  The schonberger planting was finished in one day by 3:00.  Here are some pictures.  What you are seeing is the lunch and after planting break, Allison and Kelly trying their hands at the auger, Randy and Chuck planting, RJ being outdone by Emiliano and some breaks in between.  A good time was had by all, but there were plenty of sore muscles that evening and the next day.  And yes, Kelly, RJ did get your baby plants watered over the weekend; not to worry.

I also want to share with you that we have a “new” bar for the backroom.  Kathi Roe found this across the street from her son’s house for FREE.  Yes, free is a very good price.  Okay, it was a little heavy, but the men managed to get it into the backroom.  RJ and I moved it to several places before settling in on between the windows where you can see it from the hallway.  Then we had to take the wheels off which was not an easy task.  I haven’t used the pry-bar since we had to remove tile in the kitchen two years ago.  I am still hurting.  I can’t wait until it is all cleaned up and the rest of the room is done.

Doesn’t it look great with the bar stools we bought for the outside bar.  I guess we’ll just have to get some more :).

Coming this Friday is Date Night!!!!  Find one of the hidden clovers and get a free glass of wine.

Schonberger Planting

We have the schonberger plants.  The pizzas have been ordered.  The coffee and muffins are laid out.  I think we’re ready for our big day or two of schonberger planting.  Thanks to all of you who “volunteered” to join us.  It will be fun.  Only light change of sprinkles tomorrow.
